about
Releasing The Worry came to me in a dream. In the dream, I was hosting an art exhibition and showcasing many things that, for me, symbolized the act of releasing worry: a glass of water being poured, a statue of a guy playing Capoeira, and a board displaying all the slurs I've heard thrown at me.
Sometimes, my mind races, and I feel the urge to share and talk about everything simultaneously. Releasing the Worry is my way of organizing my thoughts and sharing them with others. It's a method I've discovered to release my worry with people who can identify with the same experiences. Releasing The Worry expresses many facets of my creative side—it's a part of me.
I began with the shop, featuring some cool designs that reflect this state of mind. Subsequently, I introduced my first card game, Karaoke Against Neighborhood. The newsletter and the blog are also in the works, accompanying this website to discuss various topics, from the modern philosophy of our lives to the burden of being a black woman in a white world, academia, music that resonates with me, and even some lighthearted, silly stuff.
I don't know what Releasing The Worry will become, but we must start somewhere. So, here I am :)
